This piece is a compilation of my trip to California with my experiential encounters with black bears and cubs. I have loved black bears ever since I was a young girl and I went with my friend and her family to Northern Pennsylvania. There was a place where we could stop and get ice cream and the owner of the shop would allow the black bears to lick out the empty 5 gallon buckets of ice cream. I was mesmerized! They are such fun loving, gentle (but occasionally fierce!) creatures and I just loved watching them! I have tucked a mama and her two cubs into the painting. Can you find her? She is good at camouflage!
